Summary

We are seeking a practical hands on Mechanical Engineer to join our team in Canada. who understands how equipment is engineered, built, and assembled in the real world. This role is ideal for an engineer who has previously built or assembled prototypes, machinery, or mechanical systems, and who brings that real-world experience into better, more manufacturer designs.

This is not a desk-only engineering role. While daily fabrication is performed by our millwrights and technicians, this engineer must be comfortable being on the floor, supporting builds, validating designs, and solving problems alongside the team.

The Mechanical Engineer is responsible for mechanical design, prototyping oversight, and production improvements. Success in this role requires

KEY RESPONSABILITIESDesign & Engineering Development

Develop 3D models, assemblies, and detailed drawings using SolidWorks and AutoCAD.

Translate concepts into manufacturable designs informed by real-world build experience.

Perform engineering calculations manually and using Excel.

Design equipment, fixtures, tools, and improvements that enhance safety, manufacturability, and reliability.

Prepare BOMs, costings, manuals, and technical documentation.

Prototype & Production Support

Work closely with millwrights during prototype builds to validate fit, function, and manufacturability.

Support physical builds

on the floor

when needed -- not performing fabrication but assisting, guiding, and troubleshooting alongside millwrights.

Review, inspect, and test prototypes and early builds to ensure that design intent is achieved.

Diagnose and resolve mechanical issues in hardware, integrating lessons learned back into updated designs.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $80,000.00-$115,000.00 per year
