Job Title: Mechanical Engineer
As a Mechanical Engineer, you will work alongside the design team to edit, revise, and approve CAD drawings. You will support manufacturing processes and generate analysis reports and test plans. A key responsibility is to validate the mechanical design by conducting mechanical tests on product hardware. Additional tasks include performing stack-up analysis, component sizing and selection, and occasionally designing parts.
Responsibilities

• Support manufacturing and testing of subsystems, assemblies, and components.
• Identify risks, propose solutions, and develop mitigation strategies.
• Create conceptual designs of products, systems, and assemblies.
• Perform calculations and analysis on parts and components.
• Investigate problems or failures during development and testing.
• Engage in customer interactions for presentations, technical discussions, or training.
• Collaborate with customers to resolve issues and discuss new business opportunities.

Essential Skills

• Proficiency in mechanical engineering with experience in one of the following industries: robotics, aerospace, automotive, medical device, electronics, or military.
• Experience with mechanism design, including conceptual free body design.
• Strong analysis skills including tolerance analysis, component selection/sizing, and performance analysis.
• Capability in hand calculations to substantiate design concepts.
• Experience with actuators, motors, bearings, and gears.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Familiarity with systems engineering, stack-up analysis, and tolerance stack-ups.
• Experience in aerospace and robotics is advantageous.

Work Environment
This position offers a flexible start time with core hours from 9 am to 3 pm, five days a week, totaling a 40-hour work week. You will have the opportunity to work from home 2-3 days a week, with occasional in-office days for critical meetings. The work environment is friendly, with a supportive team of 8 members, and includes interactions with the controls, materials, and structures groups. The office features an excellent cafeteria and cubicle workspace within the engineering department.

This is a Contract position based out of Brampton, Ontario.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $55.00 - $65.00/hr.
