Join us.AECOM Buildings + Places, is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join our team. This position is based out of our Saskatoon office with opportunities for hybrid-work.AECOM Buildings + Places Canada (B+P Canada) is a vibrant and growing fully integrated team spanning architecture, all the buildingxe2x80x99s engineering disciplines, landscape architecture, urban planning, urban design, economics and asset management for design and infrastructure projects.Major Responsibilities:

  • Key member of the mechanical design team responsible for design and construction administration of various facilities;
  • Provide conceptual design at the early stages of the project and develop the concept to high quality detailed design, co-ordinate with all disciplines;
  • Design HVAC, Controls, Plumbing and Fire Protection systems;
  • Perform HVAC calculations and analysis using standard industry programs (Carrier HAP);
  • Perform calculations, conduct design drawing reviews, and field investigations;
  • Ensure design conforms with all applicable codes and client standards;
  • Write/ edit mechanical specifications.
QualificationsMinimum Requirements:In order to be considered for this position, candidates must possess, at a very minimum:
  • Bachelor Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent + no less than four (4) years of experience in the mechanical design of various buildings.
  • Registered Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) in Saskatchewan.
Preferred Requirements:
  • 7-12 years of experience in the Buildings Engineering Industry.
  • Strong Consulting Industry background in Canada.
  • In-depth knowledge of HVAC, Hydronic Systems, Controls, Plumbing and Fire Protection systems.
  • Experience in leading the design as a mechanical engineer in Water and Wastewater projects.
  • Familiarity with NFPA, ASHRAE, CSA and other industry standards and codes
  • Experience in LEED/ Net Zero design preferred.
  • Well organized, self-directed work habits with a demonstrated ability to prioritize and schedule tasks managing multiple projects simultaneously in a dynamic environment.
  • Very strong communication skills, spoken and written; good presentation skills.
  • Must be able to prepare written reports and deliver results in a clear manner to technical or non-technical audience.
  • Able to work independently or as part of a team.
