Mechanical Engineer
We're excited to share an opportunity for an existing vacancy as a Mechanical Engineer.
itec group is recruiting for a leading OEM automotive manufacturer dedicated to innovation, quality, and continuous improvement. They specialize in assembly, advanced manufacturing processes, and automation solutions that drive the future. We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer to lead new product launches and process integration within their assembly and automated welding operations.
Positions Overview:
The Mechanical Engineer will play a key role in planning, designing, and executing new launches. Your primary focus will be on integrating assembly processes, robotics, and automation systems, including PLCs and robots, to ensure seamless, efficient, and high-quality production.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead engineering activities for new vehicle launches, including process planning, tooling, and equipment design.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and validate assembly and welding processes, ensuring compliance with quality and safety standards.
Design and implement automation solutions using PLCs, robotics, and other control systems to improve efficiency and repeatability.
Coordinate with automation vendors and internal teams for system integration and troubleshooting during installation and commissioning.
Develop technical documentation, including process flows, layout drawings, and specifications.
Conduct risk assessments and implement measures to mitigate safety and quality issues during launch.
Support continuous improvement initiatives, utilizing lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, and automation best practices.
Provide technical guidance and mentorship to production teams and junior engineers during the launch phase.
Ensure all processes meet OEM standards, safety requirements, and environmental regulations.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field.
Proven experience in new product launches within an OEM automotive environment.
Strong background in assembly process design and automation systems, including robotics and welding automation.
Hands-on experience with PLC programming, integration, and troubleshooting.
Familiarity with robotic systems (e.g., FANUC, ABB, Kawasaki) and automated welding technologies.
Knowledge of manufacturing standards, safety protocols, and quality systems (IATF 16949, ISO standards).
Excellent problem-solving, project management, and communication skills.
Ability to work collaboratively across multiple departments and vendors.
