As a Mechanical Engineer, you'll play a key role in designing and reviewing HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection systems. You'll work closely with project teams to ensure designs meet performance, budget, and code requirements. The position involves technical leadership, client interaction, and construction support with opportunities to mentor junior staff and contribute to internal standards.
Responsibilities
Lead mechanical design efforts from concept through construction.
Prepare and review technical drawings, specifications, and system layouts.
Collaborate with architects, structural engineers, and other disciplines.
Conduct engineering reviews for code compliance, constructability, and cost efficiency.
Support construction teams with site visits, deficiency reviews, and occupancy verification.
Communicate with clients, contractors, and suppliers. throughout project lifecycle.
Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior team members.
Skills
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
Licensed Professional Engineer (P.Eng) in Ontario.
Minimum 8 years of experience in mechanical building systems design.
Strong understanding of HVAC and plumbing systems for multi-unit residential buildings.
Familiarity with Ontario Building Code, ASHRAE, and CSA standards.
Proficiency in AutoCAD and Microsoft Office; Revit experience is a plus.
Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
Comfortable mentoring and collaborating in a team environment.
