Job Summary

Impact Engineering is currently seeking an Intermediate Mechanical Engineer-in-Training (E.I.T.) or Junior Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) who is self-motivated and has a passion for sustainable design and making a positive impact on the environment. You are a trained E.I.T. or P.Eng. in mechanical building services design with specific knowledge in HVAC, plumbing, fire protection systems and energy.

You are a detail-oriented team player with good communication skills and enthusiasm to learn and grow. You will be tasked with leading projects under the supervision of senior engineers.

Primary Responsibilities

Design of HVAC, plumbing and fire protection systems focusing on energy retrofits and high efficiency new construction Manage project implementation and construction administration Perform building load calculations using Excel and modeling software such as Carrier HAP Prepare energy studies and reports; analyze utility data and conduct engineering analysis Manage client communications and represent Impact in project meetings Drafting in AutoCAD or Revit

Skills/Qualifications

Mechanical Engineering Degree Currently registered as an E.I.T. or P.Eng. with EGBC (or eligible to register) Minimum two (2) years mechanical experience in buildings consulting Familiar with a variety of mechanical equipment and systems Familiar with requirements of Codes and Standards (BCBC, VBBL, ASHRAE, CSA) Ability to lead engineering projects with confidence and strong communication Knowledge of design concepts and fundamentals Experience with drafting and modeling software Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word Project management experience including client interaction and coordination of internal teams and subconsultants an asset Knowledge of building controls and energy management systems an asset Experience in sales an asset
