This is an opportunity to shape meaningful technical change, influence strategic priorities, and contribute to an organization that values innovation, collaboration, and engineering craftsmanship.
Key Responsibilities:
Create detailed 3D and 2D designs in SolidWorks for mechanical, mechatronic, robotic, and automated systems.
Apply mechanical and mechatronics engineering principles to develop reliable tooling, fixtures, and process-automation solutions.
Integrate hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical, sensor, and control components into mechanical and electromechanical designs.
Conduct tolerance analyses, GD&T evaluations, and dimensional stack-ups to validate design accuracy.
Select appropriate materials and define heat-treatment processes, coatings, and surface finishes for tooling and fixtures.
Collaborate with suppliers to ensure manufacturability, quality, and adherence to timelines.
Provide hands-on technical support to resolve mechanical, mechatronics, or performance issues in production environments.
Identify automation opportunities that reduce setup time, increase throughput, improve safety, and eliminate waste.
Apply Lean Manufacturing, DFM, and value-engineering principles to new and revised tooling or automation projects.
Develop automation improvements using robotics, sensors, actuators, motion systems, and control components.
Participate in Kaizen, A3, and other continuous-improvement initiatives focused on automation and process reliability.
Incorporate PLCs, HMIs, valves, sensors, and electromechanical devices into system designs.
Lead design reviews, technical meetings, and supplier alignment sessions.
Partner with Tooling and Die, Automation, Maintenance, Production, and Quality to ensure designs meet operational needs.
Deliver engineering solutions that support ECL's strategic pillars including productivity, innovation, reliability, and operational excellence.
Develop tooling and automation improvements that reduce cost, extend tooling life, and enhance process capability.
