Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Engineer - Designer/Detailer to join our dynamic team. A Designer/Detailer responsibilities include, but are not limited to mechanical engineers research, design, and develop machinery and systems for transportation, processing and manufacturing.

Duties

Performing tasks using the appropriate CAD programs. Advanced drawing and editing functions within the CAD programs. Producing assembly & detail drawings and studies using standard drawing practices, customer specifications and industry standards. Completing the design calculations required to produce a safe and functional product. Receiving direction and interfacing with project leaders, managers, and the engineering team. Maintaining meeting and communication notes for the project file and documenting studies and reports. Travelling to project sites for field walk-throughs to check existing systems, supports & structures to aid in designs for changes, new layouts and possible tie-ins. Verbal and written communication skills to effectively interact with team members, answer questions regarding project designs & details and respond to customer requests.

Experience

Must have a university degree in Mechanical Engineering or/College certificate in Engineering and/or relevant experience. is an asset with at least two (2) years experience. A thorough understanding of blueprint reading and industry-standard drafting practices are required. AutoCAD-2D/3D & Autodesk Inventor specific knowledge and experience are assets. An understanding of manufacturing and assembly practices and procedures are an asset. Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently as well as part of a team. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to convey technical information effectively.
