to support the design, fabrication, and scale-up of our next-generation bio-electrochemical systems. This role will be instrumental in transitioning our technology from lab-scale prototypes to pilot-scale deployments and beyond. The ideal candidate brings deep mechanical engineering expertise, strong practical experience with electrochemical systems, and a collaborative mindset. This is a unique opportunity to shape a first-of-a-kind technology and contribute directly to its path to global impact.
Your responsibilities
Collaborating with an interdisciplinary team of scientists and engineers, you will lead the design, fabrication, and scale-up of sustainable chemical production processes, from lab prototypes to pilot and commercial systems.
Specifically, you will:
Design, model, and prototype mechanical components and assemblies for sustainable chemical production systems.
Conduct mechanical and thermal analyses to ensure safe and reliable system performance.
Select appropriate materials and fabrication methods, considering chemical compatibility, manufacturability, performance, and cost.
Develop experimental plans and carry out comprehensive studies to evaluate system performance and identify opportunities for design improvements.
Ensure all designs and installations meet relevant safety standards, codes, and regulatory requirements.
Manage procurement of mechanical components and coordinate with vendors and fabricators.
Document designs, assembly procedures, and system modifications clearly for knowledge transfer and scale-up.
Support the transition from lab to pilot scale including layout planning, risk assessment, and pilot plant setup.
Collaborate cross-functionally with chemists, process engineers, and electrical/control teams to ensure integrated system performance.
