Mechanical Engineer

to join our team and drive the development of advanced downhole technology.

Position Summary:


We are looking for a

Mechanical Engineer

with expertise in mechanical design, 3D CAD modeling, and downhole tool development to support our research and development efforts. This role involves the design, analysis, prototyping, and testing of mechanical components for Measurement While Drilling (MWD) systems, telemetry, sensor housings, and related tools.

Key Responsibilities:



Utilize

SolidWorks 3D CAD software

to develop innovative mechanical designs. Apply

GD&T (ASME Y14.5)

principles to ensure precision in mechanical drawings. Implement

PDM (Product Data Management)

for efficient design collaboration and manufacturing. Perform

CFD analysis

(SolidWorks Flow Simulation/Ansys) to optimize performance. Design mechanical components for

downhole MWD tools

, including telemetry and sensor systems, connectors, vibration, and thermal management. Work with

thread standards (API, UN, SA)

for component integration. Create and manage

engineering drawings, models, and supporting documentation

. Coordinate with manufacturing teams and suppliers to ensure production efficiency. Plan and execute product testing, including

prototype development and commissioning

. Collaborate with

engineering, operations, and field teams

for product implementation. Develop technical reports and support documentation for assembly, testing, and deployment.

Qualifications & Experience:



Must be local to Calgary, AB.

Advanced expertise in SolidWorks 3D CAD software.

Experience with

CFD software (SolidWorks Flow Simulation/Ansys)

is a plus. Strong background in

mechanical design

for downhole tools. Experience with

wire routing, PCB packaging, and sensor system integration

. Knowledge of

thread classes and standards (API, UN, SA)

. Ability to manage projects from design to manufacturing and field implementation. Hands-on approach with experience in

product testing, setup, and commissioning

. Strong communication skills for supplier coordination and interdepartmental collaboration.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $120,000.00-$170,000.00 per year
