Wood has a potential opening for graduate Mechanical Engineers in Training (EITs) to join its Projects Canada business in Calgary, Alberta. Reporting to the Manager, Mechanical Engineering, this role will support Wood's future and ongoing projects across a diverse portfolio.
EITs will work within multidisciplinary engineering teams, gaining hands-on experience while applying mechanical engineering fundamentals across multiple project phases. This role provides an excellent opportunity for recent graduates to develop their technical skills and progress toward professional registration.

The Role
The Mechanical Engineer in Training will support mechanical engineering activities across a range of projects within Projects Canada. Working under the guidance of experienced engineers, the role involves applying engineering principles, relevant codes and standards, and contributing to engineering deliverables while developing professional and technical capabilities.

Responsibilities:
  • Demonstrate strong technical knowledge of mechanical engineering principles
  • Apply relevant mechanical engineering theories, codes, and standards
  • Support the preparation of mechanical engineering deliverables
  • Work effectively within multidisciplinary project teams
  • Take ownership of assigned tasks and deliverables under supervision

Expected:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • Registered as, or eligible for registration with APEGA as an Engineer in Training
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English
  • Professional demeanor with strong interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a team-based environment
  • Legally eligible to work in Canada at the time of application
