Job Description

Our client, a leader in the Nuclear Construction Field, is looking for a Mechanical Drafter to join their team on a long term contract basis in the Cambridge area.

We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Drafter to support engineering and construction projects. This role involves preparing detailed fabrication drawings, 3D models, and quantity calculations for machine control applications while ensuring accuracy and compliance with project standards.
Responsibilities

• Prepare fabrication drawings, quantity calculations, and 3D models for machine control applications.
• Develop and maintain drafting plans to support project deliverables.
• Provide drafting support for tooling, fabrication templates, and inspection processes.
• Communicate clearly and professionally with clients and project stakeholders.
• Liaise with design partners, trade supervision, and project team members to ensure alignment.
• Report on and participate in continuous improvement initiatives for key performance metrics.
• Problem-solve as-built conditions and collaborate with the project team to develop effective solutions.
• Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Essential Skills

• Professional experience in Autodesk Inventor OR Solidworks
• Experience with welding symbols and general fabrication processes.
• 5+ years of experience in mechanical drafting and design.
• Must have experience working in a fabrication environment

Work Environment
The work location is based in Cambridge with a hybrid model requiring 3 days in the office. Core work hours are from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, with some flexibility to start earlier at 7:00 AM and finish by 3:30 PM. Job Type & Location
