Job Summary
As a
Mechanical Detailer
, you will play a critical role in transforming engineering concepts into precise, production-ready technical drawings. Working closely with the design and engineering teams, you will prepare detailed mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic drawings used in the manufacturing and installation of custom industrial automation and material handling equipment. Your work ensures accurate construction and supports seamless integration on the shop floor and in the field.
Responsibilities
Create detailed mechanical drawings using
Autodesk Inventor
and/or
AutoCAD
Detail mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems
Support design teams on large, multidisciplinary automation equipment projects
Assist in all phases of the design cycle (Kickoff, Product Selection, Detailing, BOM creation, Approvals, etc.)
Submit drawings for review and support fabrication/assembly processes
Participate in pre- and post-design reviews
Complete as-built drawings and mark-ups based on shop and field input
Collaborate with engineers, designers, and other internal departments
Maintain project documentation and CAD file management
Perform additional duties as required by the Engineering Department
Qualifications
2-year diploma in Mechanical Engineering Technology (or related)
2-4 years of detailing or design experience in industrial machinery or related fields
Experience with fabrication/assembly processes in a manufacturing environment
Familiarity with manufacturing routing (cutting, bending, machining, painting, etc.)
Proficiency in Autodesk Inventor and AutoCAD (2015 or newer)
Strong knowledge of drafting standards and practices
Competent with
Microsoft Office
Excellent communication and teamwork skills
Ability to work overtime when required
Willingness to travel internationally for project support (as needed)
