Position Overview

Reporting to the R&D Manager, the Mechanical Designer is responsible for the design and development of new parts and products, testing procedures and improving our existing products according to manufacturability and customer requirements. This role requires proficiency in CAD design software and a strong understanding of mechanical engineering principles.

Responsibilities

Develop detailed mechanical designs using CAD Draft or modify CAD files to create new parts or assemblies Document procedures and create production guides for future assemblies or modifications Collaborate with teams and departments to ensure designs satisfy all requirements Modify part designs to be used in prototypes or products Test and inspect prototypes for fit and functionality Perform other job-related duties as assigned

Position Requirements

Degree in manufacturing, mechanical engineering, or a related field Experience and understanding of optics (optical imaging, autofocussing, optical alignment, microscopes) 1-2 years mechanical design experience Proven experience and proficiency in CAD (OnShape/Solidworks or similar) Creativity and problem-solving skills are essential Strong understanding of mechanical engineering principles Strong communication skills Ability to manage individual tasks while working collaboratively in a team environment

Pay: $75,000.00-$83,000.00 per year
