Overview

Belt Conveyor Guarding (BCG) is seeking a detail-oriented

Mechanical Designer

to join our team in

Oro-Medonte (Craighurst)

. In this role, you will create accurate 3D models and manufacturing drawings used in the production of custom machine guarding, enclosures, and industrial safety products. This is a hands-on design position working closely with engineering, production, and estimating teams.

Responsibilities

Create

3D CAD models and assemblies

using Autodesk Inventor Produce accurate

manufacturing drawings

including dimensions, GD&T, weld symbols, and notes Design

sheet metal parts, weldments, and structural components

Prepare

bills of materials (BOMs)

and maintain revision control Work collaboratively with technicians, estimators, and production teams to ensure manufacturability Support design changes, prototyping, and continuous improvement initiatives Interpret sketches, measurements, and customer requirements to develop complete design packages

Qualifications

Required

Proficiency with

Autodesk Inventor

(or similar 3D CAD) Knowledge of

sheet metal design

, fabrication processes, and weldments Ability to produce clear, accurate technical drawings with GD&T 1+ year experience in a mechanical design or CAD role Strong attention to detail and ability to work on-site in Craighurst, Ontario

Preferred

Experience with PDM/Vault Diploma in Mechanical Engineering Technology, Drafting, or equivalent Manufacturing or industrial equipment design experience

About the Role

Contract:

6 months with potential for full-time

Schedule:

Monday to Thursday 7:30 am - 5:00 pm, Friday 8am - 3pm

Location:

3478 Penetanguishene Road, Craighurst, ON (on-site role)
Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $26.00-$29.00 per hour

Expected hours: 42.5 per week
