Mechanical Design Engineer

Job Description
Reporting to the Creative Director, the Mechanical Design Engineer is responsible for the engineering and detailing of custom retail displays and kiosks.Main Duties:
- Analyze and develop manufacturing shop drawing package based on conceptual drawings or renderings
- Consider factors influencing engineering including cost, materials, production methods and ergonomics
- Direct support to production including continuous improvement focus
- Create installation instructions and electrical diagrams to support installation teams
- Degree in mechanical, manufacturing engineering or similar
- Strong proficiency in SolidWorks, with minimum 5 years of hands-on experience creating drawings and working with large assemblies
- Minimum 5 years' experience working in a manufacturing environment
- Experience with AutoCAD would be an asset
- Knowledge of CAD, CNC programming and operations across a variety of materials would be an asset
- Strong analytical, creative thinking and problem-solving skills with ability to make effective decisions
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to multi-task with sensitivity to deadline and time management
