Machine Building company for the automotive industry are looking for a highly motivated, independent, "hands-on" individual to join our Mechanical team. The role includes interpreting mechanical drawings and pneumatic schematics, mechanical assembly of machine components, machining of parts, machine mechanical start-up, testing and debug and some travel for machine installation and commissioning support.
Responsibilities:
Reading and interpreting mechanical and pneumatics drawings including assembly drawings and detail component drawings
Assembly of precision machine components with some machining of parts (milling and turning) as required for assembly of custom engineered automated machinery.
Operate the machine on trial runs to adjust machine settings, cycle times etc., to ensure it meets customer specifications
Perform functionality testing of purchased & machined parts
Coordinate with the Electrical Department in the final development of the machine.
Perform installation and commissioning at the customer site, along with training the customer on change over and set-up procedures
Communicate with management, fellow staff, and Customers any project concerns, project status, and possible solutions.
Mechanical systems testing and debug, systems commissioning, installation and troubleshooting of machines on-site.
Travels to end users to perform service and install.
What you'll need:
5+ years of proven experience in assembly of custom automated machinery. Welding and assembly tools in Automotive industry experience is preferred.
Ability to read & interpret engineering drawings, mechanical drawings and pneumatic schematics.
Possess or have access to tools relative to trade.
Team player, can work independently
Ability to travel internationally to US and Mexico with valid Canadian passport; G license
In-house forklift certificate an asset
MiG welding is an asset
NOTE:
Experience in Automotive industry and especially in machine building most wanted.
Job Types: Full-time, Fixed term contract
Pay: $30.00-$45.00 per hour
