Mechanical and Electrical Construction Manager
Location: Toronto, ON

Job Summary:
Our client, a high-rise residential construction management firm, is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Mechanical & Electrical Construction Manager to oversee and manage the mechanical and electrical aspects of our construction projects. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that all mechanical and electrical components of our projects are constructed and installed to meet all applicable codes and standards, within budget and on schedule. Projects are in downtown Toronto.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Oversee and manage the mechanical and electrical aspects of all construction projects, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical systems, elevators, fire protection systems, and other related systems.
• Review and approve mechanical and electrical designs, plans, and specifications, ensuring compliance with all relevant codes and standards.
• Coordinate and manage the procurement and installation of all mechanical and electrical systems and components.
• Manage and supervise the work of mechanical and electrical contractors and subcontractors.
• Monitor project schedules and budgets, and ensure that all mechanical and electrical work is completed on time and within budget.
• Ensure that all mechanical and electrical work is completed to a high standard of quality, and that all relevant safety and quality standards are met.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, consultants, contractors, and other stakeholders.
• Conduct regular site visits to monitor the progress of mechanical and electrical work, and provide guidance and support as needed.
• Ensure that all mechanical and electrical documentation is complete, accurate, and up-to-date.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor\'s Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or a combination of education and industry experience and incorporating renewable energy
• Several years of experience in mechanical and electrical construction management, ideally with a focus on high-rise residential construction projects, however, those with a commercial background are encouraged to apply.
• Experience integrating Smart renewable energy systems is an asset
• Extensive knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems, codes, and standards.
• Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain strong relationships with clients, consultants, contractors, and other stakeholders.
• Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team of contractors and subcontractors.
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills, with the ability to think creatively and find solutions to complex problems.
• Experience with AutoCAD and other construction-related software is a plus.
• Professional Engineering designation (P.Eng) is an asset.
