Here\'s how a(n) Mechanical and Electrical Manager contributes to our team:

Responsibilities

  • Oversees the coordination of the drawing process and provides direction on model coordination across multiple projects.
  • Reviews and negotiates change notices/orders related to building systems and assesses their effect on the project budget, scope, schedule, and forecasts.
  • Provides guidance on designs, layouts, and management of the procurement of temporary utility services (e.g., power, water, gas, storm and sewer connections) in the construction plan.
  • Liaises with utility providers to provide services to project as per project schedule and addresses challenges, as required.
  • Stays current with industry practices and seeks new and innovative building systems methods and processes. Drives implementation within operations and with external partners.
  • Supervises, directs, coaches, trains, and mentors building systems employees daily.
  • Provides recommendations to operations management regarding project-specific improvements that may impact building systems.
  • Monitors and tracks trade performance across all projects and provides input on selected trades to provide a competitive edge.
  • Develops and maintains strong customer focused relationships with key stakeholders and decision makers.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent required. Tradesperson or postsecondary diploma/degree in a related discipline (e.g., mechanical, electrical, controls) is preferred.
  • 15+ years of progressive construction experience in positions leading to district building systems manager, including 3 years leading the entire building systems function and resources for a district.
  • Advanced understanding of the impact and interaction of all building systems.
  • Knowledge of relevant construction law and building codes and associated impacts.
  • Advanced knowledge of various construction methods.
  • Planning, organizational, and time management skills with the ability to multitask, prioritize own work, and delegate tasks.
  • Experience with negotiating subcontracts and change notices. Ability to interpret and recognize impacts of contract documents to mitigate risk.
  • Uses effective verbal and written communication skills with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated flexibility and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
