About the Opportunity

We are looking for a motivated and reliable individual to join our team as a Shop Hand / Apprentice Mechanic / Small Engine Mechanic. This role supports our shop operations by assisting with maintenance, repair, and servicing of equipment, tools, and vehicles. The ideal candidate has hands-on mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and a willingness to learn and grow within a dynamic work environment.

Key Responsibilities

Assist with the inspection, maintenance, and repair of small engines, power tools, and various types of equipment. Support senior mechanics with diagnostics, troubleshooting, and equipment testing. Perform routine maintenance tasks such as oil changes, filter replacements, lubrication, and part installations. Clean, organize, and maintain the shop, tools, and work areas to ensure a safe and efficient workspace. Track and record maintenance activities, repairs, and parts used. Load, unload, and prepare tools or materials for job sites as required. Follow safety protocols and ensure all work meets company standards. Assist with parts inventory, ordering, and restocking as directed. Operate hand tools, power tools, and light machinery safely and effectively.

Requirements:

Previous experience in a mechanic, shop, or maintenance-related role is an asset. Basic knowledge of small engine repair and mechanical systems. Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Ability to lift and move heavy equipment or tools as required. Willingness to learn and take direction from experienced mechanics. Current/valid driver's license and clean Driver's Abstract. Punctual, reliable, and able to work effectively as part of a team. Self-motivated and diligent with a "make it happen" attitude.
