Company Overview

Sercon Construction is a growing business that has been operating in the greater GTA for over many years. We are currently looking for a Fleet Manager/Heavy Equipment Mechanic to join our team.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

Supervise the maintenance and repair of all vehicles and equipment to ensure their safety and operational readiness. Develop and execute fuel management strategies to manage costs and monitor consumption. Ensure that all vehicles and equipment meet regulatory requirements, including licensing, permits, and inspections. Develop and manage budgets for vehicle maintenance, fuel, and other fleet-related expenses to control costs. Maintain accurate records of all vehicles and equipment, including tracking usage and scheduling maintenance. Implement safety programs and policies to minimize risks and accidents involving fleet vehicles and equipment. Develop and implement plans for responding to emergencies involving fleet vehicles and equipment. Maintain and repair fleet and heavy equipment (earth movers, telehandlers, trucks, trailers, large and small machinery). Complete tasks promptly and efficiently to ensure critical equipment is back in service quickly, minimizing downtime. Perform duties in the shop, yard, or construction sites as required.

QUALIFICATIONS

5+ years of experience in Construction, with ideally 3+ years in a Fleet Management role. Demonstrated organizational, administrative, and time management skills. Knowledge of heavy equipment, light vehicles, and support equipment is beneficial. Proficiency in using technology, including computers and software (e.g., Microsoft Word, Excel), and ability to learn new and company-specific programs. Strong interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills. Excellent critical thinking skills and attention to detail. Ability to multitask and prioritize amidst competing demands. Proven ability to work independently and within a team environment

WORK CONDITIONS

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $70,000.00-$100,000.00 per year
