Our priority is to make sure we hire mechanics that care about the safety of our drivers and the service provided to the community. As a mechanic with us the minimum responsibilities are:
Perform routine preventative maintenance on diesel trucks and equipment, including lubrication, oil changes, fluid checks, and filter replacements.
Inspect vehicles and equipment for signs of wear, leaks, or potential mechanical issues, and report findings to the lead mechanic or supervisor.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the maintenance bay, tools, and equipment to ensure a safe and efficient work environment.
Assist mechanics with basic repairs and part replacements as directed, including tire checks, battery maintenance, and light mechanical tasks.
Document all maintenance activities accurately using fleet maintenance software, including services performed and parts used.
Monitor and replenish shop supplies such as grease, oil, filters, and cleaning materials.
Support road call responses by preparing tools and parts or assisting with minor on-site maintenance tasks.
Communicate professionally and courteously with drivers and other team members regarding vehicle conditions and maintenance needs.
Follow all safety protocols and environmental regulations as outlined by the Ministry of Transport, Ministry of Environment, and Waste Connections of Canada.
Perform other related duties as assigned by the maintenance supervisor or lead technician.
What We Need From You:

High school diploma or equivalent
Experience performing preventative maintenance on diesel trucks or heavy equipment, including oil changes, lubrication, and basic inspections.
Basic mechanical aptitude and understanding of vehicle systems, including diagnostic and maintenance software
Valid Class G driver's license
Strong attention to detail and ability to follow maintenance schedules and safety procedures.
Must be able to pass all pre-employment requirements
