Valleyview Co-op is hiring a full-time MEAT MANAGER at our FOOD STORE in MELITA, MB.
What you\xe2\x80\x99ll do: Reporting to the Store Manager, the Meat Manager is responsible for the overall management of the Meat department at the Melita Food Store.

• Be accountable for the financial and operational success of the Meat Department
• Maintain daily communication with the Food Store Manager
• Ensure that the administrative and reporting requirements of the role are maintained on an ongoing basis within required timelines including completion of weekly duties (planning, ordering, payroll, meetings, front-end flow, etc.)
• Provide leadership and direction to the Meat team in all areas of People, Financial, Market Growth, Sustainability and Operational Excellence.
• Be motivated to continue growing our Meat business and committed to providing exceptional customer service
• Be responsible for communication, planning, organizing, and implementing initiatives within the Meat Dept.
• Build and maintain relationships with external customers, member-owners, team members and team leaders
• Be actively out on the sales floor working one-on-one with team members, leading by example to ensure a highly productive atmosphere exists with the Meat team in order to provide consistent and outstanding Co-op experiences, image and financial results.
• Conduct Meat Team Talent Management practices and ensure company policies and procedures are followed
• Lead in all safe food handling practices
• Lead department safety \xe2\x80\x93 uphold our Safety policies and procedures while building our positive safety culture
• Demonstrate day-to-day behaviours and actions that align with and strengthen the Co-operative\'s vision, mission, values, brand and focus on safety
• Perform other duties and projects as assigned

Who you are: We are looking for candidates who:

• You have previous manager experience leading a team and you have meat cutting experience
• You have computer skills including Microsoft Word and Excel
• You are able to work a variety of shifts - including days, evening, weekends, and statutory holidays on a rotational basis
• You\xe2\x80\x99re action oriented, customer focused and work well with other Team Members & Team Leaders
• You\xe2\x80\x99re honest and trustworthy, are results-oriented and strive to be the best in what you do
• You believe in building relationships and collaborating to deliver solutions that matter most, and you recognize the value that different perspectives bring to meet shared objectives
• You\xe2\x80\x99re able to stand for the length of a shift and lift up to 50 lbs
