Position Overview
World Meats is seeking a skilled
Meat Grinder & Sausage Maker
to join our production team. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing, grinding, mixing, and stuffing high-quality meat products according to company standards and customer specifications.
Key Responsibilities
Tends machine that grinds meat for use in making such products as sausages, ground beef, ground pork, ground chicken, and other products as required.
Selects and inserts grinding plate in the machine for specified particle size.
Shovels meat into machine hopper, using a fork, and positions truck under discharge spout.
Prepare meats according to recipes, ensuring accuracy in seasoning and texture.
Maintain strict hygiene and food safety standards (HACCP compliance).
Portion, weigh, and package products for distribution.
Clean and sanitize equipment and work areas after each production run.
May select and weigh meat in the cooler room for the grinder.
Requirements
Minimum 3-5 years of experience in meat processing or sausage production (butchery experience an asset).
Knowledge of meat cuts, grinding ratios, and sausage-making techniques.
A can-do attitude and ability to follow directions.
Experience working in food production environment (meat processing/packaging) and cold environment is preferred
Understanding of Good Manufacturing practices in a production (food) environment preferred
Ability to learn and follow procedures including following food safety and handling guidelines.
Excellent communication skills
Above average organizational skills
Ability to lift, push, and/or pull and or move up to 70lbs.
Ability to stand and bend along with lift and carry items over an 8-plus hour day.
Ability to work in a cool/freezer (-10/+4 degrees C) environment
Ability to keep the hand and arm steady while moving the arm and hand in one position.
Ability to see details at a close range
