Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Meal/Prep Cook to join our dynamic kitchen team. In this role, you will play a vital part in ensuring the smooth operation of our kitchen by preparing high-quality meals, assisting with various food preparation, packaging tasks. You will work in a fast-paced environment, contributing to the overall success of a new program for elders in our community while adhering to food safety and handling standards. This position will start March 3,2025 and hours are Sunday-Thursday 4pm to 12am with room for growth into a supervisory position.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook a variety of menu items according to established recipes and standards.
• Assist in the preparation of ingredients, including chopping, slicing, and marinating.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area, including dishes, workstations and equipment.
• Follow all food safety protocols to ensure safe food handling practices.
• Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure timely meal preparation and service.
• Monitor inventory levels of food supplies and report any shortages or needs.
• Support the Head Chef in menu planning and special event preparations.
• Help train new kitchen staff on food preparation techniques and safety standards.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in food preparation or cooking within the food industry is preferred.
• Knowledge of food handling, safety regulations, and sanitation practices.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
• Strong attention to detail with a passion for quality meal preparation.
• Excellent teamwork skills with the ability to communicate effectively with kitchen staff.
• Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings and weekends as needed.
• A positive attitude and willingness to learn new cooking techniques.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $20.00-$22.00 per hour
