About You
We\xe2\x80\x99re looking for an individual with a drive to be the best: a brilliant communicator, influencer, and collaborator with a focus on people and integrity. You are highly organized and have a solid background in managing all aspects of a busy department within a unionized environment.

About the Role
  • Reporting to the Site Director, you will be responsible for leading the overall strategy within all areas of the Maturing Department, performing to Diageo standards, strategy, planning within the site.
  • Drive department towards benchmark performance in safety, compliance, quality, and environmental sustainability through site programs such as Zero Harm, Food Safety, Water Stewardship, Zero Waste to Landfill etc.
  • Display excellent leadership with strong communication skills and the ability to influence key partners.
  • Drive a strong engagement platform that supports a continuous improvement culture.
  • Deliver department strategy including annual operating plans to ensure long term supply of the highest quality Canadian whiskies.
  • Build relationships and maintain effective partnerships with internal and external collaborators
  • Set objectives and performance standards (critical metrics) for department and direct reports
  • Ensure the effective implementation of Manufacturing Excellence programs, innovations, and special projects.
  • Ensure all management responsibilities are implemented in accordance with Global Diageo, North America Supply and local policies and all applicable laws. This includes interviewing, hiring, training, planning, assigning, and directing work, appraising performance, rewarding and performance managing employees.
  • Other duties as assigned.


Experience required/Skills/Capabilities
  • A relevant technical Degree is preferred with 5+ years\xe2\x80\x99 manufacturing leadership experience
  • Must have experience of leading a large manufacturing team and demonstrated people leadership capabilities.
  • Effective influencer and communicator and able to set out strategy and aspirations that others will follow and support.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Advanced practitioner of continuous improvement tools such as Six Sigma, Lean, and Kaizen.
  • Working knowledge of provincial/national regulatory and safety requirements.
