Job Summary

We are seeking a mature salesperson to work at our gift shop part-time for the summer. The ideal candidate will have a passion for customer service and enjoy talking to visitors to PEI. As a salesperson, you will be responsible for engaging with customers, providing suggestions as needed to help them find the perfect souvenir from their trip to PEI, and running the cash register and credit card machine. The gift shop is located in beautiful North Rustico Harbour, knowledge of the area is considered an asset!

Duties

Greet customers warmly and assist them in finding souvenirs that meet their needs. Help with inventory, pricing, setting up displays and light cleaning of the store. Work the cash register, and point-of-sale terminal (training provided).

Qualifications

Previous experience in retail or sales is preferred but not required. Ability to work 25-30 hours per week, including evenings and weekends from June until end of September. Basic math skills for handling transactions accurately. A proactive attitude towards problem-solving and engaging with customers. French is an asset, but not required. Knowledge of the local area is an asset, but not required.
