Overview

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Mathematics Teacher to join our educational team.

Responsibilities

We are seeking Math tutors for students in Grades 2 and 12. The tutors will guide the students, fill any gaps in their knowledge and help them improve their grades. You will need to assign extra practice after every class. Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that align with curriculum standards and cater to different learning styles. Teach mathematical concepts ranging from basic arithmetic to advanced topics, ensuring clarity and understanding among students. Provide individualized tutoring support to students who require additional assistance in grasping mathematical concepts. Create a supportive classroom environment that encourages student participation and fosters a love for mathematics. Assess student progress through regular evaluations and provide constructive feedback to guide their learning journey. Maintain accurate records of student performance and communicate effectively with parents regarding their child's progress.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Education, or a related field is required; teaching certification is preferred. Previous experience teaching the curriculum in Ontario is a MUST. Previous classroom experience is highly desirable, demonstrating effective teaching strategies and classroom management skills. Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively convey mathematical concepts to students of varying abilities. Experience in tutoring or providing one-on-one support is a plus, particularly for students needing extra help. We are seeking Math tutors for students in Grades 2 and 12. Certification:

May hold a current, active, and in-good-standing license from the

Ontario Certified Teacher (OCT)

or someone who is in process of getting OCT.

Teaching Division:

Qualifications in the

Intermediate and Senior (I/S) Divisions

are highly preferred.

Education:

A Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) and a corresponding undergraduate degree in a relevant Mathematics.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: From $40.00 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 5 per week
