AB Academy is seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Mathematics Teacher to join our middle school team. The successful candidate will foster strong problem-solving skills, mathematical reasoning, and confidence in students while delivering lessons aligned with the Ontario Curriculum. Teaching will emphasize inquiry-based learning, critical thinking, and real-world applications of mathematics to prepare students for success in higher-level courses.

Duties and Responsibilities
Plan and deliver engaging mathematics lessons for Grades 5-8 aligned with the Ontario Curriculum.
Use a variety of instructional strategies to support problem-solving, reasoning, and conceptual understanding.
Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of diverse learners, including English Language Learners and students with varied learning profiles.
Assess, evaluate, and provide constructive feedback on student progress using multiple assessment tools.
Integrate technology and real-life applications to make mathematics meaningful and engaging.
Collaborate with colleagues to support interdisciplinary projects and IB MYP inquiry-based approaches.
Create a positive, inclusive, and structured classroom environment that encourages participation and persistence.
Communicate regularly with parents and guardians to support student learning.
Participate in school events, extracurricular activities, and professional development opportunities, including those related to IB methodology.
Qualifications
Canadian Citizenship or Permanent Residency.
Knowledge of and commitment to Islamic values.
Bachelor's degree in Education or Mathematics.
Ontario College of Teachers (OCT) certification, or eligibility to obtain.
Strong knowledge of the Ontario Mathematics curriculum for middle school.
Excellent communication, organizational, and classroom management skills.
Experience teaching mathematics at the middle school level.
Ability to engage students in inquiry-based and problem-solving approaches.
Experience working with diverse learners, including English Language Learners and students with special education needs.
Familiarity with digital tools and math-related technologies is an asset.
Experience with IB MYP Mathematics framework is considered an advantage.
