North Star Academy Laval (NSA), a private high school, currently has an opportunity available for a

Mathematics Teacher

in Laval, Quebec. We are committed to giving each student the support and help he or she needs in order for them to reach their full potential. We are looking for dedicated, innovative, dynamic and creative teachers who will not be afraid to put the priorities of the student first.

Required Qualifications

Quebec Certification

3-5 year experience

Be knowledgeable and qualified in the subject area

Familiar with the Quebec Education Plan

Solid communication skills especially in their subject area

Able to work in close collaboration with administration, faculty and parents

Other teachable an asset

Key Responsibilities

Prepare

his/her lesson plans within their authorized Q.E.P. program

Must be ready to

present

his/her lesson plans to the administration if so required

Collaborate

with other teachers and professionals in order to take the proper measures to serve the individual student

Organize

,

supervise

various extra-curricular activities as well as two (2) student outings including and not limited to the following one (1) social and one (1) academic

Evaluate

the progress of each student as per the School's evaluation standards

Control

the absence and tardiness of his/her students and report this information to the administration, within the School's standards.

Attend

open houses and parent/teacher meetings during the year

Participate

in at least one (1) committee and/or activity of choice

Actively

participate in meetings relating to his/her work

Report

the necessary information through the School communication program to parents, students and the administration, as per the School's standards
