Summary

We are currently recruiting for a Full-Time Temporary Materials & Picking (Materials Handler) to work in our new Edmonton Service Centre location (5515 42 Street NW). This position will start as a 1-year temporary contract with the possibility of extension or becoming a permanent position. The successful candidate will report to the Manager, Valve Service.

Role and Responsibilities

• Pick parts for orders to technicians as well as future jobs with accuracy and organization using a \xe2\x80\x9cVertical Lift Module\xe2\x80\x9d containing multiple items.
• Receive and process warehouse stock products (pick, unload, label, store)
• Provide superior customer service to internal and external customers
• Must be able to work overtime and weekends when required
• Package outgoing shipments
• Sort and organize items so that it can be located easily and accurately.
• Handle inventory/stock, conduct stock counts as required
• Computerized data input on various operating systems
• Maintain quality control
• Internal and external Customer communication and cooperate with supervisors, coworkers
• Inventory floor maintenance
• Stock replenishment
• Maintain a safe work environment and actively participate in Spartan\xe2\x80\x99s safety culture
• Maintain on-time delivery
• Maintain a clean work area
• Learn and know the functions of the business
• Ability to be flexible to work at both Edmonton Spartan locations.

Qualifications and Skills

• High School Diploma
• Previous shipping/receiving and/or warehouse experience is considered an asset
• Strong computer skills
• Previous experience with SAP is considered an asset
• Forklift operation (certification is considered an asset, but training will be provided)
• Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment
• Superior customer service
• Ability to maintain a high level of attention to detail, and awareness of surroundings, in a fast-paced, safety-sensitive environment
• Superior work ethic
• Strong organization, time management and multi-tasking skills
• Must be physically capable of lifting to 50 lbs and be able to stand for long periods of time with the ability to bend and reach overhead.
• Must be able to work under pressure and find items quickly.
