The Opportunity:
The Materials Handler Lead Hand is responsible for general materials handling duties, power equipment operations, and staging and returning of inventories to and from the manufacturing departments. This role oversees the processes of all staging and returning work flows, and transferring of required materials to and from other warehouses. The Materials Handler Lead Hand is expected to set the highest standard with an excellent work ethic, and skills as a leader of the floor team, while taking into consideration the company's commitment to our seven Core Values such as sustainability (people, the planet, and profit) in the planning and implementation of all actions related to the area of responsibility.
Work Schedule: Monday to Friday 2:00pm - 10:30pm
& Duties:

  • Assume responsibility for the efficient and timely performance of materials handling functions
  • Maintenance and organization of staging and returning area
  • Initiate and prioritize the general work flow from staging to returning process
  • Assist in working with the Materials Coordinator to efficiently achieve packaging and manufacturing schedules
  • Communicate with fellow employees as well as with the Packaging, Manufacturing and other departments
  • Ensure that log sheets and logbooks are accurately recorded
  • Ensure that all requested materials are properly staged
  • Responsible for transferring rejected and quarantined RMs, BKs and WIP materials to the designated locations
  • Maintain high level of accuracy when transferring any materials to/from packaging, manufacturing, and other warehouses
  • Assist Warehouse Supervisor/ Manager with daily, weekly and monthly reports to provide an accurate overview of activities, hours and exceptions for team members
  • Notify Warehouse Supervisor and Inventory Coordinator when any discrepancies occur
  • Support cycle count of all inventories
  • Troubleshoot when needed to find missing inventory
  • Assume responsibility for establishing and maintaining effective communication, organization, and working relations with Company personnel and management
  • Support warehouse personnel as needed
  • Communicate in a positive and respectful manner with fellow employees and other departments
  • Daily communication with the Warehouse Supervisor and Warehouse Manager, including reporting all employee performance and operational issues
  • Focus primarily on working hands-on with the crew, training, leading by example, and setting the pace
  • Assist Supervisor in writing quarterly and annual review of workers and report any worker performance concern to the Supervisor
  • Attend and participate in staff meetings as required
  • Promote the value of respect in the workplace
  • Assume responsibility for Power Equipment Operations
  • Follow safety procedures while operating forklift and power pallet jack
  • Ensure safe operation of all power equipment within the department
  • Ensure daily power equipment inspections and scheduled battery maintenance
  • Assume responsibility for related duties as required or assigned
  • Ensure that the warehouse is clean, secure, and well maintained
  • Complete special projects and miscellaneous assignments as required
  • Follow and adhere to all given instructions including work procedures, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP)
  • Strictly follow and enforce all safety policies as outlined in the company policies and training sessions
  • Other duties as assigned
Requirements:
Technical
  • Forklift certified
  • Good communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Ability to multi-task
  • Knowledge of Syspro, Microsoft Excel and Word
  • Good overall knowledge of inventories and receiving procedures
  • Good organization skills
  • Ability to work quickly with time restraints
