The Materials Handling Safety Instructor is responsible for providing a professional presentation of Leavitt\xe2\x80\x99s end-user products using the applicable standards for BC and Alberta. Prior mobile equipment operation and training experience is required.
The candidate must have flexibility with scheduling as this position requires accommodation to customer scheduling, accordingly, including infrequent evening classes. Both a willingness to travel and occasional weekend availability are requirements. The Trainer will work interactively with Sales Representatives to ensure that appropriate client information is captured and that market strategies are implemented effectively. Remuneration is provided on a salary basis however a contractor option is also available.
Duties & Responsibilities:
\xc2\xb7 Deliver training in group or individual hands-on sessions
\xc2\xb7 Demonstrate an in-depth knowledge of each of our product lines
\xc2\xb7 Deliver consultative training programs in a variety of training environments
\xc2\xb7 Building strong relationships with our customers and ensuring that details of customer interaction are communicated to office staff
Monitoring operations items at a branch level and reporting deficiencies to the Operations Manager and/or Lead Instructor
Auditing and improving training procedure and training quality of Northern BC contract instructors
Assisting lead instructor with program development
Continued education of equipment and safety training
\xc2\xb7 Additional duties as may be assigned
Job Requirements:
\xc2\xb7 Prior experience leading teams in an industrial or construction setting, instructing groups or post-secondary education/professional accreditation in a related discipline is recommended
\xc2\xb7 Equipment operation experience for one or more of the following, including: forklift, aerial platforms, skid steer, loaders, overhead crane; other equipment experience would be an asset
\xc2\xb7 Flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends, willingness to travel
\xc2\xb7 WHMIS certification and Level 1 First Aid certification
\xc2\xb7 Good understanding of Alberta and BC legislative and regulatory framework relating to OH&S
\xc2\xb7 Proven experience in interpreting and administering the code and regulations
\xc2\xb7 Experience in adult learning techniques in designing and delivery of programs
\xc2\xb7 Clear and professional communication skills
\xc2\xb7 Must demonstrate a strong commitment to providing exceptional customer service
\xc2\xb7 Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills
\xc2\xb7 A self-starter and who works well with minimal supervision
\xc2\xb7 A valid Driver\xe2\x80\x99s License and transportation are required
\xc2\xb7 Preference will be given to any individuals that possess the Energy Safety Canada Instructor Skills Development (ISD) designation
