Job Description

This posting is for 1 hourly position. As a member of the Materials Management team with Strathcona County Emergency Services, the Materials Management Assistant supports the day-to-day operations with shipping and receiving, picking and packing station stock orders, cleaning and organizing stock rooms, filing, data entry and other related tasks. Responsibilities Shipping and Receiving

• Receive orders, verify receipt and process paperwork in an efficient and timely manner
• Identify defective or unacceptable goods or services and determine next steps in collaboration with Materials Management
• Accurately pick & pack station stock orders
• Ensure security and inventory control of supplies and materials
• Fill shelves and bins, rotating as required, disposing of and accounting for outdated stock

Inventory Management

• Ensure stock is packaged and labelled following infection prevention control best practices

Other Responsibilities

• Answer front door and assist visitors or members of the public.
• Assist with distribution of personal and department issued goods and equipment
• Assist with data entry and filing as required.

• Demonstrated organizational and time management skills
• The ability to prioritize tasks in a busy environment with competing demands
• High attention to detail and the ability to problem solve
• Customer service experience

Qualifications

• Minimum High School Diploma
• Purchasing or inventory management experience is preferred
• Proficiency in MS Office software (Office 365, Word, Excel, Outlook)
• Experience working in an emergency services environment is an asset

• Submission of a Satisfactory Criminal Record Check
• Valid Alberta Class 5 Driver\xe2\x80\x99s licence and submission of a 5-year Driver\xe2\x80\x99s Abstract with less than 7 demerits Ability to perform physical labour (lifting up to 50 lbs) as part of the job duties and stand/walk for extended periods of time in a warehouse setting
