The Material Handler plays a key role in ensuring smooth and efficient material flow throughout our Copeland Canada headquarters in Brantford. This person is responsible for receiving, transporting, storing, and staging materials to support production, storage, and shipping operations. They also assist with quality checks, inventory control, and maintaining a safe and organized work environment.
Key Responsibilities
Material Movement
Load, unload, and transport materials throughout the facility.
Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment safely and efficiently.
Storage & Organization
Accurately locate and store raw materials, components, and finished goods.
Maintain organized storage areas to support production and shipping needs.
Inventory Management
Support cycle counts, material audits, and warehouse inventory checks.
Communicate inventory discrepancies to appropriate team members.
Quality Control
Verify incoming shipments, validate shipping documentation, and ensure materials meet quality standards.
Assist with inspection processes and report any issues promptly.
Safety & Compliance
Follow all company safety procedures and comply with Ontario's Occupational Health and Safety Act.
Communication & Teamwork
Collaborate with team members, production, and logistics to coordinate material movement.
Provide clear and timely updates to supervisors and other departments.
Required Qualifications
Authorization to work in Canada without current or future sponsorship.
Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Preferred Qualifications
Forklift certification or prior experience in similar roles strongly preferred (in-house certification available if needed).
Previous experience in a warehouse, manufacturing, or logistics environment.
Strong attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment with a safety focused mindset.

Our compensation philosophy is simple: we pay a competitive base salary, within the local market in which we operate, and reward performance during the annual merit review process. In accordance with the Ontario Employment Standards Act, 2000 (ESA), the hourly rate for this role is $22.50 CAD.
