Material Handler

The Company

Founded in 1909, Nordstrong Equipment Limited is a company with a long history of providing bulk material handling equipment and solutions to agriculture and industrial customers. We are an industry leader in the design and manufacture of a wide variety of robust, high-performance bulk material handling solutions. In addition to our custom-designed product, we also design and manufacture a full line of hoisting equipment for truck dump body applications under the NORDIC trade name.

The Opportunity

As a Material Handler in our manufacturing facility, you play a key role in supporting daily production and shipping operations. You will be responsible for the safe and efficient movement of materials and components throughout the plant. This includes handling incoming raw materials, organizing storage areas, moving finished goods, and managing scrap bins, all while maintaining a clean and safe working environment.

Roles & Responsibilities

Operate forklifts to safely move and transport steel, components, and finished goods.

Load and unload incoming steel and vendor-supplied components from trucks.

Deliver materials to production areas and bring in materials stored outside.

Move completed orders to shipping areas for outbound delivery.

Empty small shop scrap bins and transfer contents to large exterior scrap bins.

Organize and maintain storage areas, including the large shed used for idler parts.

Support production teams by ensuring timely and accurate material delivery.

Perform visual checks to ensure materials are in good condition and meet safety standards.

Follow all plant safety protocols and ensure proper PPE is worn during tasks.

Maintain cleanliness and orderliness in material storage areas and loading zones.

Skills & Requirements

Valid forklift certification or experience operating forklifts in a manufacturing setting.

Able to lift, carry, and move heavy materials safely and efficiently.

Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.

Good communication skills and ability to work well in a team environment.

Comfortable working indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.

Previous experience in a material handling or industrial role is an asset.

Safety-conscious mindset and adherence to workplace health and safety procedures.
