Position Summary



The Material Handler - Shipping & Inventory plays a vital role in ensuring materials are efficiently received, stored, and distributed to support TKMS's production operations. This position involves coordinating all shipping and receiving activities, maintaining inventory accuracy in the ERP system, and operating forklifts and material-handling equipment in compliance with safety standards.



Key Responsibilities

Shipping & Receiving

Coordinate inbound and outbound shipments, ensuring materials are handled and documented accurately.
+ Prepare bills of lading, packing slips, customs forms, and other documentation as required.
+ Pack, crate, and label outgoing shipments in accordance with company and customer standards.
+ Unload incoming materials using forklifts or pallet jacks; verify deliveries against purchase orders.
+ Record all received and shipped items accurately in the ERP system.
+ Track delayed or lost shipments and manage damaged goods or returns according to company policy.

Inventory & ERP Management

Maintain accurate inventory records through daily updates and regular cycle counts.
+ Utilize the ERP system to record transactions, track materials, and monitor inventory levels.
+ Collaborate with Purchasing to maintain optimal stock quantities and minimize shortages.
+ Generate inventory and stock movement reports for management.
+ Assist in developing and improving ERP-based inventory workflows.

Warehouse & Operations Support

Operate forklifts and other material-handling equipment safely and efficiently.
+ Ensure materials are properly organized, labeled, and stored in designated areas.
+ Support production teams by staging, issuing, and returning materials as required.
+ Maintain a clean, safe, and organized warehouse environment.
+ Follow all Health & Safety policies and wear required PPE.



Qualifications & Experience


High school diploma or equivalent required.
+ 5-7 years of experience in material handling, warehouse, or inventory control (manufacturing environment preferred).
+ Valid forklift operator certification (Counterbalance and/or Reach Truck).
+ Experience with ERP or inventory management systems (ADP, NetSuite, or equivalent).
+ Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and basic computer applications.
+ Knowledge of stainless-steel materials or fabrication components is an asset.
+ WHMIS and First Aid certification are considered assets.
+ Strong organizational and time-management skills.
+ Excellent accuracy, attention to detail, and communication skills.


Working Conditions


Fast-paced, deadline-driven warehouse and production environment.
+ Primarily indoor work with occasional outdoor unloading.
+ Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods.
+ Exposure to dust, noise, and varying temperatures.
+ May be required to work at heights or operate grinders/polishers occasionally.
+ Overtime or weekend work may be required based on production needs.
