QUALIFICATIONS
- Minimum Grade 12 diploma
- Minimum of 1-2 years experience in stores/receiving environment with computerized material control systems
- Must be able to read, speak and write English fluently with excellent communication skills
- Valid Fork-lift/tow motor operation Certificate
- Valid Transportation of Dangerous Goods Certificate
- Valid WHMIS (Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System)
- Must have a basic to intermediate level of mathematical skill relevant to the position
- Must be completely capable of meeting physical requirements of the job in a multi-temperature environment
- Good organizational, interpersonal, industrious and service oriented skills
- Demonstrated ability to operate related vehicles/equipment
- Basic keyboarding and data entry skills
- Excellent problem-solving skills partnered with attention to detail with the ability to work effectively with little supervision
- Must be able to liaison with co-workers as needed to coordinate the movement of goods
- Must possess a demonstrated competency in hospital geography, computer inventory control, warehouse and receiving processes
- Must be willing to upgrade service skills as departmental needs dictate
- Excellent work performance and attendance is required

RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES
- Performs general physical activities in order to load, unload, sort and move shipments by hand or using material handling equipment
- Examines shipment contents and compare with records such as manifests, invoices, or orders to verify accuracy of shipment
- Supports other materials functions in various assignments which include receiving, distribution, delivery of various items such as specimens, drugs, medical records, x-rays, lab bags, equipment and furniture, etc.
- Deliver or route materials to other departments using material handling devices with a responsibility for the timely return of empty transport carts and totes
- Process and distributes end-user orders in an accurate and timely manner
- Responds to end-user inquiries (telephone, pager, verbal) in a timely and professional manner
- Adheres to shipping and receiving policies/procedures
- Maintain shipping and receiving area
- Performs safety inspections as required
- Perform tasks in multi-temperature environments
- Partcipates in counts at the direction of the Supervisor and/or Manager
- Communicates all shift/service issues to co-workers,Supervisor and/or Manager
- Complete incident reports in relation to health and safety issues or material spills
- Assists with other departmental activities as delegated by the Supervisor and/or Manager
- All other duties as assigned

HOURS OF WORK
Monday - Friday; Days - Various rotating hours

WAGE RATE
Hourly: $24.55$25.61$26.68 (plus 14% in lieu of benefits)
