Position Summary:
The Material Handler at Arrow plays a crucial role in the manufacturing process by ensuring the efficient and accurate movement of materials and products within the facility. This position involves the collecting, storing and distributing materials, parts, and finished goods to designated areas throughout the plant. Material Handlers will work closely with production teams to ensure materials are available when needed to meet production schedules, maintaining inventory accuracy and minimizing disruptions in the manufacturing process. This role requires attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and a focus on safety and quality in a fast-paced environment.
Primary Responsibilities:
Maintaining a clean and safe work area while operating equipment according to established procedures.
Movement of parts, products and raw materials throughout the various manufacturing departments to support production needs.
Movement and emptying of garbage, scrap materials and scrap material containers.
Bring material for processing to the workstations.
Manually prepare parts, products and raw materials for movement around the facility or interplant transfer. - pile, sort, stack, tie-down.
Take processed parts from the workstations to the appropriate areas.
Supply workstations with skids, boxes or packaging for materials that have been processed.
Empty garbage containers throughout plant.
Empty steel chip containers as required
Keep warehouse safe and orderly.
Inspect and report daily any problems with forklift to materials manager.
Ensure compliance with safety standards, equipment maintenance and housekeeping policies to maintain a safe working environment.
Other duties as required.
Educational Requirements:
Completion of secondary school or equivalent.
Two years warehouse worker and lift truck operator experience
Forklift license
Required Skills & Expertise:
Strong knowledge of safe forklift operation practices.
Ability to operate various types of forklifts (sit down, stand up, etc.)
Ability to follow detailed instructions and maintain safety.
Great communication skills and teamwork.
Ability to work in varying environmental conditions (ex, noisy, cold, heat)
Equipment/ Tools/ Technology Used:
Able to use jib cranes and related lifting attachment, and handheld equipment that may be necessary to the job
Use of hand tools such as staple guns, may need to be used for
