The Company has strong sales channels in North America, and currently possesses emerging sales channels in EMEA and Asia-Pacific (AP).

Trimay Wear Plate Ltd, a UCC environmental company, is the leading manufacturer and distributor of overlay wear plate & pipe, rubber lined pipe, welding consumables, and VR connectors. Trimay has a manufacturing facility and head office in east Edmonton, and services an international customer base in a wide range of industries, including mining, oilfield, forestry, asphalt and power generation.

The Material Handler will be responsible for safe and efficient movement of material throughout facility to support production priorities. Candidates should be willing to learn new skills in various positions in the manufacturing plant as required by the Plant Manager.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Operate forklift, cranes, and other equipment to transport materials to and from transportation vehicles and yard

2. Responsible for organizing the outside yard and inside shop inventory materials and materials in progress.

3. Manage, organize, drop and pick up materials from the yard stock by hand or using material handling equipment

4. Perform other material handling activities such as building pallets and crates, counting, weighing, sorting, packing and unpacking

5. Drive company vehicle for local delivery and part pick-up.

6. Operate winches and other devices to load and unload materials onto and off trucks

7. May perform other activities, such as opening containers and crates, filling warehouse orders, assisting in taking inventory and weighing and checking materials

8. Operate the cutting equipment to cut steel plates as required

9. All other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

Education and Experience:

Class 5 clean driver's licence (abstract required) Extensive crane and forklift experience is a must

Ability to work well in a team environment with fast pace and tight schedule Enthusiastic and willing to learn new skills with minimal supervision Ability to shift from one job to another with little notice Ability to demonstrate initiative Assist in keeping a clean, safe work environment

Essential Physical Abilities:

Ability to lift 50 pounds Ability to work seated or standing up to 90% of shift as required
