Shared Health leads the planning and coordinates the integration of patient-centered clinical and preventive health services across Manitoba. The organization also delivers some province-wide health services and supports centralized administrative and business functions for Manitoba health organizations.
Position Overview

Assigned duties are performed accurately and effectively with minimal supervision. Hospital and Departmental policies and procedures are understood and followed. Sterile supplies are handled and stored in a manner that protects integrity of the sterility. Good distribution techniques, such as proper location, rotation (first in - first out), identification, documentation and organization, are utilized. Accurate filing and inventory records are maintained. Ability to prioritize workload assignments is demonstrated. Ability to assess problems and initiate problem-solving techniques is demonstrated. Time deadlines for the completion of work assignments are met. Quality Improvement is understood, and a commitment is made to achieve goals and Objectives. Departmental equipment is operated in accordance with established guidelines. Neat and tidy work habits are maintained.
Experience

Previous experience with receiving, storage, linen, and distribution of supplies is desirable.

Qualifications and Skills

Works closely and co-operatively with other staff members of the Materials Management Department.
Has contact and communicates with staff members of other Hospital departments and the Regional Laundry System.
Ability to work with minimal supervision.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills including the ability to accurately read, write and understand English.
Physical Requirements

Physical ability to tolerate constant standing, walking, bending, and heavy lifting which includes repetitive lifting and pushing or pulling.
This term position may end earlier as outlined in your collective agreement.
