Material Coordinator
to join our team, with a strong background in
shipping and receiving
and experience operating
forklifts
.
Roles and Responsibilities
Maintain accurate inventory levels by monitoring stock and conducting regular audits.
Ensure timely procurement of materials to prevent production delays.
Collaborate with vendors and suppliers to source high-quality materials at competitive prices.
Track and expedite orders to meet production deadlines.
Coordinate material flow to various departments based on project requirements.
Prioritize material distribution for critical and urgent tasks.
Maintain detailed records of material orders, deliveries, and usage.
Generate periodic reports on inventory status, shortages, and forecasts.
Ensure all materials meet industry quality and safety standards.
Oversee daily operations, including receiving, storing, and dispatching goods.
Organize warehouse layout to optimize storage and retrieval efficiency.
Ensure adherence to standard operating procedures (SOPs) by the team and create where required.
Coordinate regular inspections and maintenance of warehouse equipment such as forklifts and pallet jacks.
Prepare materials for shipment and manage shipping/receiving documentation ensuring accurate labeling and packaging.
Coordinate with logistics partners for timely delivery of goods.
Implement and enforce workplace safety protocols to minimize risks.
Ensure warehouse operations comply with industry and company standards.
Operate forklifts and other warehouse equipment as needed.
Skills and Qualifications
Forklift experience/certification is a strong asset.
Background in shipping and receiving is required.
Experience in material and warehouse coordination, preferably in the heavy-duty equipment industry.
Proficiency in inventory management software and ERP systems.
Strong organizational and time-management skills.
Ability to lead and motivate a team effectively.
Excellent communication and negotiation skills for vendor and team interactions.
Familiarity with heavy-duty equipment parts and industry-specific materials is an asset.
Experience in Microsoft software and other Inventory Management Software.
