Marketing Specialist

Full Time -Permanent

Native Education College (NEC) opened its doors in 1967 and became British Columbia's largest private Indigenous College. NEC's purpose is to contribute to an Indigenous, holistic experience that positions the Indigenous learner to uphold their responsibility and obligations to their family, and nation of origin as autonomous Peoples. NEC provides culturally relevant education and training for Indigenous Peoples to pursue career aspirations and enhance academic goals in alignment with their diverse cultural identities and traditional knowledge. The NEC longhouse offers access to many resources and in-house support that includes cultural and spiritual support, funding, counselling, and career advising from a culturally authentic lens.

Position Summary:

This position supports the execution of NEC's approved Marketing Strategy by implementing marketing tactics, managing content creation logistics, coordinating events, and maintaining NEC's digital and print promotional presence in alignment with brand guidelines. The role ensures marketing initiatives are executed efficiently to achieve student enrollment and engagement objectives

Main Responsibilities:



Implement marketing campaigns as per Marketing Manager's strategic direction

Coordinate design, production and distribution of promotional materials such as posters, brochures, banners, swag

Manage social media platforms and maintain consistent content schedule aligned with branding direction

Update website content as instructed and maintain site accuracy

Support event promotion logistics (e.g., NEC open house, career fair), including coordinating print collateral and external bookings

Collaborate with Administration department to produce internal newsletters, alumni outreach materials, and external stakeholder mail-outs

Track performance metrics and report outcomes to Manager for review

Assist with photography and videography on various brand promotional projects

Job Requirements



Minimum Qualifications:

Undergraduate degree in Marketing, Communications, or a related field

1+ year experience in marketing, preferably in non-profit or educational settings

Familiarity with Indigenous cultural protocols and community engagement

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Proficiency with social media and website content tools

Strong written and visual communication skills

Knowledge of graphic design software is an asset (e.g., Canva, Adobe)

Excellent organization, time management, and attention to detail

Ability to work independently and collaboratively across departments

Hours: Monday to Friday: 35 hours/week

Salary: $33.87/hour (As per Collective Agreement)
