Summary:



The Marketing Specialist is responsible for developing and implementing strategic marketing initiatives to promote LINC online classes, increase program visibility, and support client recruitment and engagement. This role ensures that all campaigns align with ISSofBC's mission of providing accessible, high-quality language instruction to newcomers, with a focus on inclusivity, cultural responsiveness, and digital reach.

How You'll Make a Difference:



Plan, execute, and monitor targeted paid and organic campaigns to promote online LINC classes through digital platforms, community networks, alumni, and current clients.

Align all marketing initiatives with funder requirements and ISSofBC's strategic goals.

Research and apply best practices to boost enrollment and improve the newcomer student journey, from awareness to registration.

Simplify and optimize the sign-up process to reduce barriers to access.

Design culturally responsive, accessible materials (e.g., social posts, digital flyers, web banners, video) with a clear call to action driving audiences to the LINC website.

Develop inclusive, plain-language content for diverse newcomer audiences; manage translations where required.

Collect, manage, and publish learner testimonials and success stories (with consent).

Coordinate photography and video production for promotional use.

Collaborate with program teams, instructors, and leadership to ensure messaging aligns with operational needs.

Support internal marketing efforts across ISSofBC to promote LINC via other program teams, especially LCC.

Establish and manage partnerships with community organizations and ethnic media to extend outreach.

Monitor performance metrics (e.g., engagement, inquiries, conversions) and report on campaign effectiveness.

Perform other related duties as assigned.

What You Bring:



Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, or a related field and minimum four (4) years professional marketing experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

Knowledge of programs and services for newcomers in BC is an asset.

Demonstrated cultural competency and commitment to working effectively with diverse populations.

Strong organizational, project management, and problem-solving skills.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a focus on copywriting and proofreading.

Proficiency in digital platforms and tools: SEO, Google Ads, social media, and email marketing. Knowledge of offline marketing tactics such as flyers, posters, and community outreach in settlement hubs.

Ability to segment and tailor campaigns by region, language group, or immigration status.

Creative in adapting materials quickly to suit low-literacy or tech-limited audiences.

Design and editing skills in Adobe Creative Cloud, Canva and Microsoft.

Comfortable using CRM systems or enrollment data to target and refine outreach.

Knowledge of user feedback tools or surveys to assess effectiveness and improve.

Self-starter with the ability to manage budgets, timelines, and analytics.

Motivated to support newcomer communities and aligned with ISSofBC's values.

Ability to maintain a clear provincial criminal record check.

$26.47 - $29.13
