The opportunity: Reporting to the Director, Advancement Marketing the Marketing Officer is a member of Marketing and Brand (M&B). The Marketing Officer position exists to support the vision, mission and priorities of the University of Manitoba and the assigned groups of clients made up from faculties and administrative units. The Marketing Officer plays a vital role in promoting and building the reputation of the university, its faculties, units, departments and senior administrators at the internal and local, regional and national level. As a member of the M&B team, Marketing Officers focus on the marketing communications needs of areas of strategic importance to their client group and the University of Manitoba, including students, research, senior administration, alumni and philanthropy, and Bison Sports and active living. The qualifications and experience we\xe2\x80\x99re looking for: \xc2\xb7 Undergraduate degree in communications, marketing or other related specialization required. \xc2\xb7 Four years of directly related client management experience and experience in integrated marketing communications setting required. \xc2\xb7 Experience with philanthropic organizations is an asset. \xc2\xb7 An acceptable equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered. \xc2\xb7 Experience in the area of digital communications is required. \xc2\xb7 Exceptional oral and written communications skills and a high level of creativity and problem-solving skills required. \xc2\xb7 Must be a creative thinker with a proven track record of successful strategic communications planning and implementation. \xc2\xb7 Must have exceptional leadership and relationship building skills. \xc2\xb7 Must have strong time management skills and the ability to prioritize conflicting demands. \xc2\xb7 Thorough knowledge of the procedures and techniques in the field of specialization is required. \xc2\xb7 Must possess a strong understanding of advancement and the vital role it plays within a university. \xc2\xb7 Solid understanding of print and digital communications platforms and ability to leverage in an integrated way to meet identified goals and objectives is required. \xc2\xb7 Strong project management skills are required. \xc2\xb7 Must possess a high degree of independence, diplomacy and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment. \xc2\xb7 Must have the ability to manage broad range of marketing communications projects from concept to completion is required. \xc2\xb7 Ability to make decisions and plan and control projects required. \xc2\xb7 A proven track record in working with all levels of staff, including senior administration, external stakeholders and others is an asset. \xc2\xb7 Satisfactory work record, including satisfactory attendance and punctuality, is required.
