MARKETING & COMMUNICATIONS COORDINATOR

JOB SUMMARY & RESPONSIBILITIES :

Recognized for the quality of its products and services, the Old Port of Montr\xc3\xa9al Corporation manages a vast recreational and cultural site at the crossroads between a city and its river. Through the development of the Old Port site and the Montr\xc3\xa9al Science Centre, the Corporation actively participates in the development of the city. A dynamic and diversified place awaits you!

You will be part of a marketing team of 7 people: Marketing and Business Relations Director, Public Relations Manager, Consultant and two Marketing Coordinators. More specifically, you will report to the Head of Marketing of the Old Port of Montr\xc3\xa9al Corporation and will coordinate various marketing and communication activities for the Old Port and the Montr\xc3\xa9al Science Centre. You will contribute to various public relations activities, including launch events, as well as promotional activities within the framework of advertising campaigns, by ensuring effective communication between internal clients, suppliers and partners of the Old Port of Montr\xc3\xa9al Corporation.

Marketing, digital and public relations project coordination (60%)

  • Is the point of contact with internal clients, vendors and partners to receive and relay all necessary information for marketing or public relations activities;
  • Coordinates the internal advertising, promotional and public relations approvals process;
  • Verifies the compliance of graphic standards, content and logos of printed productions;
  • Carries out all necessary follow-ups on assigned projects: briefing the production agency, briefing freelance writers, briefing printers, routing and following up on the production of various communication tools (site displays, banners, promotional videos, flyers, etc.);
  • Provides support to the foundation\'s activities and public relations;
  • Collaborates with the Human Resources department to produce creative and innovative content to strengthen the employer brand (HR Marketing);
  • Take full responsibility for smaller projects;
  • Monitors press coverage;
  • Manage and update press lists;
  • Ensures the follow-up of deadlines;
  • Coordinates the organization of promotional events, employee events and public relations (launches, partners\' evening, etc.);
  • Manages the various advertising contests;
  • Supports the digital consultant, the public relations manager and the marketing consultant in the execution of various projects;
  • Active participation in team brainstorming and contributes to ideas;
  • Support in various functions during vacation periods.
Administration (30%)
  • Follows up on the budgets of the department;
  • Controls the production costs of various marketing projects;
  • Completes all administrative transactions related to the purchasing process (purchase orders, invoicing, etc.);
  • Carries out price and supplier research and provides important support in the drafting of tender documents (e.g. printing, photographer, videographer);
  • Provides administrative support to the Director and other team members when necessary (organization of meetings, preparation of documents, etc.);
  • Manages and follows up on the privileges granted by contract to business partners;
  • Manages the inventory of various freebies and tickets for MSC/Imax and Old Port.
Update of websites and production of newsletters (10%)
  • Update of the Old Port and/or Montr\xc3\xa9al Science Centre and/or Old Port of Montr\xc3\xa9al Corporation websites;
  • Contribution to the newsletter content calendar, visual editing and sending of newsletters dedicated to various internal and external clients, and performance follow-up;
  • Updates of the Intranet and publication of announcements;
  • Updates of the Science Centre and Old Port programming information on external websites.
EXPECTED EXPERIENCE & KNOWLEDGE:
  • College degree in administration, business management, or equivalent (Bachelor\'s degree in a relevant discipline is an asset)
  • 2 years\' experience in marketing coordination
  • Experience in an advertising or public relations agency (an asset)
  • Knowledge of English (oral intermediate level) and written English (an asset)
  • Knowledge of MS Office Suite (intermediate level); and of the main following systems: Mailchimp, Canva, Drupal, Google Analytics, Typeform, Facebook and Instagram ads management.
