BC WiN is an innovative recruitment approach that helps BC employers meet workforce needs and connects people with disabilities/diverse abilities to careers with respectful, inclusive employers. It works like a recruitment search firm, targeting a unique talent pool. These services are free to employers and job seekers, thanks to the funding from the Government of Canada. We are looking for a Marketing Coordinator to help build our new CAN WiN brand from BC to Ontario! Under the general direction of the Marketing and Communications Manager, and working with the Inclusive Workforce Specialist team, the Marketing Coordinator will be responsible for assisting in the coordination of CAN WiN\xe2\x80\x99s marketing and community engagement activities from BC to Ontario. You will apply an employment focused lens to expand our outreach with career-oriented job seekers with disabilities, as well as employers and community partner organizations. You understand the disability employment landscape in Canada. You are someone who keeps current on new creative ways to build campaigns and visuals, customized to attract various audiences. You use your network to promote and build the CAN WiN presence on social media and have us on the right platforms for employers and job seekers to reach us. Primary Responsibilities:
  • Recommend and implement marketing campaigns to increase candidate referrals and/or employer awareness for CAN WiN. Marketing campaigns include analyzing needs, preparing marketing strategies and promotional materials;
  • Work closely with the Inclusive Workforce Specialist team to identify and develop ways to maximize the reach of recruitment campaigns launched on behalf of Employer Partners.
  • Plan and actively participate in meetings and events by identifying, assembling, and coordinating requirements; establishing contacts; developing schedules and assignments; and coordinating mailing lists.
  • Developing monthly newsletters, sharing the highlights of the month with team members and stakeholders.
  • Develop and implement external communication activities to increase knowledge and awareness of CAN WiN programs and services.
  • Update and create website content and forms.
  • Social media content writing, editing and publishing.
  • Media relationship development.
  • Assist with other company marketing tasks and events.
  • Maintain inventory of marketing collateral, including business cards, letterheads and brochures, ordering additional supplies as requested.
  • Participate in training and professional development activities as required.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Education, Training, and Experience:

  • Marketing or Communications diploma from BCIT or other recognized university and/or college
  • Minimum two years relevant marketing /communications / PR work experience
  • Proficient in content marketing theory and application in both print and digital platforms
  • Demonstrated experience in art and or graphic design, ability to create aesthetic visual content
  • Experience with content management programs (Hootsuite) and email marketing software (i.e. Campaign Monitor, Mailchimp or Cyberimpact)
  • Experience with Adobe Creative Suite applications (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop)
  • Experience with web content management systems such as WordPress is required
  • Lived experience with disability is considered an asset

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Excellent communication skills with demonstrated ability to prepare creative and effective marketing material.
  • Knowledge of disability employment opportunities and challenges in Canada.
  • Team oriented, combined with an ability to work in a flexible, independent environment.
  • Exhibits the ability to jump from the creative side of marketing to analytical side, able to demonstrate why their ideas are analytically sound.
  • Self-motivated and able to manage own schedule to deliver targeted results.
  • You are passionate about collective impact and making a positive difference for others.

Special Conditions of Employment
  • Required to pass a criminal history background and/or fingerprinting.
  • Occasional travel within Canada may be required.
  • As per the current Public Health Orders (Long Term Care/Seniors Assisted Living Provincial Health Officer Order and the Health Sector Order), as of October 26, 2021, all employees working for Open Door Group must be fully vaccinated for COVID-19. Proof of vaccination status will be required.
