For more information about the North Atlantic, please visit www.northatlantic.ca Position Overview Reporting to the Marketing Manager, we are seeking a Marketing-Communications Specialist with exceptional writing skills and a strong proven track record of developing impactful social media and communications strategies and successful stakeholder relations. We are growing and we want you to grow with us. The Marketing-Communications Specialist will play a pivotal role in the planning, development, coordination, integration, and operational support for business development initiatives, marketing strategies, and promotional events. Duties and Responsibilities:
  • This role will primarily be working with the corporate branding, home heating, commercial fuels, marine bunkering, and renewable energy divisions
  • Developing calendar of events and communication strategies to effectively reach stakeholders
  • Promotional/stakeholder event coordination
  • Ensure high-quality preparation and production of all written materials, including internal and external communications, presentations, newsletters, fact sheets, etc.
  • Content development, management and monitoring all social media channels
  • Facilitate proactive public relations initiatives to optimize positive media coverage
  • Monitor and analyze media coverage to assess the effectiveness of public relations efforts
  • Collaborate with other divisions to ensure a consistent brand image
  • Website analytics and content development
  • Assist with marketing and promotional advertising and collateral materials
  • Consistently monitor industry related news and trends and provide regular updates to the team
  • Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
  • Marketing, Communications or Public Relations Degree
  • 3-5 years experience in a similar role
  • A combination of education and work experience may be considered
  • Experience with social media marketing and knowledge of industry trends
  • Public relations and media relations experience
  • Effective writing and presentation skills
  • Understanding of digital (social media and Google) analytics
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams
  • Proficient organization, and time management skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft office programs
  • Flexible to adapt to changing priorities
  • Capable to work under minimal supervision, independently or as a part of a team
  • Able to multi-task in a fast paced, deadline driven, team focused environment
