Position Overview
Reporting to the Marketing Manager, we are seeking a Marketing-Communications Specialist with exceptional writing skills and a strong proven track record of developing impactful social media and communications strategies and successful stakeholder relations. We are growing and we want you to grow with us. The Marketing-Communications Specialist will play a pivotal role in the planning, development, coordination, integration, and operational support for business development initiatives, marketing strategies, and promotional events.
Duties and Responsibilities:
This role will primarily be working with the corporate branding, home heating, commercial fuels, marine bunkering, and renewable energy divisions
Developing calendar of events and communication strategies to effectively reach stakeholders
Promotional/stakeholder event coordination
Ensure high-quality preparation and production of all written materials, including internal and external communications, presentations, newsletters, fact sheets, etc.
Content development, management and monitoring all social media channels
Facilitate proactive public relations initiatives to optimize positive media coverage
Monitor and analyze media coverage to assess the effectiveness of public relations efforts
Collaborate with other divisions to ensure a consistent brand image
Website analytics and content development
Assist with marketing and promotional advertising and collateral materials
Consistently monitor industry related news and trends and provide regular updates to the team
Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
Marketing, Communications or Public Relations Degree
3-5 years experience in a similar role
A combination of education and work experience may be considered
Experience with social media marketing and knowledge of industry trends
Public relations and media relations experience
Effective writing and presentation skills
Understanding of digital (social media and Google) analytics
Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams
Proficient organization, and time management skills
Proficient in Microsoft office programs
Flexible to adapt to changing priorities
Capable to work under minimal supervision, independently or as a part of a team
Able to multi-task in a fast paced, deadline driven, team focused environment
