The Forks North Portage (TFNP) is seeking a self-starter to support our communications and engagement strategies through sharing and leveraging our unique stories and value proposition. This position reports directly to the Communications and Marketing Manager and will work holistically with the entire external relations team. The successful candidate will be an effective communicator who can deliver the organization\'s messages to the public and media through a variety of mediums, including: media releases, social media, blog posts, Powerpoint presentations, web content, and others. This role works with both the internal team and external contractors to help articulate the organization\'s voice and ensure it\'s aligned with the TFNP\'s brand and vision. Key to this role are an attention to detail and great writing skills. You are someone who

  • Identifies as an impact player: present, open, flexible, curious, and ready to take action;
  • Has a degree or diploma in communications, marketing, or a similar program; and has 2-3 years of experience working in communications or marketing;
  • Is a storyteller with a strong attention to detail, adept at easily switching between corporate communications, internal communications, media relations, and marketing;
  • Has some design and photography skills;
  • Is skilled at creating a brand presence on all social media platforms using best practices and taking advantage of knowledge of industry trends;
  • Values diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility.
We need someone to
  • Research and write media releases, public service announcements, and marketing copy;
  • Research, write, edit, and photograph persuasive content for the organization\'s social media accounts;
  • Maintain and manage information on all web sites managed by The Forks North Portage including responding to public inquiries;
  • Write, edit, and proof a wide variety of corporate materials including PowerPoint presentations, speaking notes, and infographics;
  • Maintain and update media and industry lists;
  • Collect and maintain photographic images for the organization.
