Job Description

The Toronto Children's Chorus is seeking a creative and highly motivated Marketing and Communications Coordinator. Working collaboratively with staff, choristers, and volunteers, you will create, support, and maintain TCC social activities. You will assist in the development and implementation of digital marketing and publicity materials for the TCC. You will provide support to the Executive Director, and work closely with the Program Manager in providing necessary research, writing, editing, design and distribution of digital marketing and communication materials, website, social media, photoshoots, video productions, engagement database, and other forms of digital communication while providing a range of administrative support to coordinate the day-to-day operations. The role requires someone who enjoys the challenge of a busy artistic environment and who is equally comfortable dealing with the public, media, artists, government agencies, and volunteers.

Requirements: PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Strategically manage and create engaging content to the TCC social media platforms
  • Ensure consistency of TCC branding and image in all communications
  • Execute the season communication plan for all concerts, performances, and other events in collaboration with the Program Manager
  • Create and send recurring email communications, including our monthly e-newsletter
  • Maintain and update contact lists, including audiences, alumni, and other stakeholders
  • Research and identify opportunities to enhance the organization's visibility in existing or new communities
  • Keep websites current and accurate, reflecting up-to-date information about concerts, fundraising and events
  • Provide website tech support to staff and choristers
  • Oversee the maintenance of choir lists and registration/withdrawal status
  • Manage audition schedules
  • In consultation with the Main Choir Uniform Coordinator, manage uniform needs
  • Administrative support for day-to-day operations
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
  • Completion of a post-secondary diploma in Arts Administration, Business, Marketing, Communications or in a relevant field and a minimum 1-2 years of experience in the following requirements:
  • Strong organizational and time management skills to effectively prioritize and execute tasks
  • Strong interpersonal and communication (oral & written) skills and a keen eye for detail
  • Relationship management with various stakeholders
  • Experience in graphic design
  • Experience working with various applications such as Constant Contact, Adobe Creative Suite, and Airtable; or willing to learn how to use new software and technology tools
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office and Google Suite programs, Canva etc.
  • Experience and enthusiasm for developing content and copywriting, photography, short video editing, and stories for Instagram, Facebook, Twitter and Youtube
  • Self-starter who takes initiative to learn new things and acquire new skills
  • Experience with various marketing platforms, channels, and best practices (i.e., social, digital, and email marketing)
  • Experience with website content management systems (i.e., Wordpress, Wix)
Additional assets:
  • Experience with photography
  • Experience working in a not-for-profit environment
Additional Info: The budgeted salary range for this position is $35,000-$38,000, commensurate with experience. This position is a one-year, full-time contract with the opportunity to renew after a successful year-end performance review. Employee benefits are available after a successful 3-month probation period.
